I only know and like Carlos Santana from the Latin world because of genius guitar playing and great synthesis  of Latino sounds with modern rock and jazz elements.
I also like listening occasionally to Latin jazz whenever it comes. It's quite rhythmic and always gives me high mood. Wink But no one special I can call the name of.
I will definitely listen to Elis today. Smiley

Then all of us (or, almost all of us) preffered other things to be engaged with, just because of 24 hours  a day time restrictions and own preferences...

There were 6 of us who attended latino classes: Julia (dont know her nick herein), me, my sister, Scud, Mood_for_love and Sammy. For me, personally, those 6 months were a pleasant way of spending time during my nonworking hours. I was resting from my job, learnings and everything around, and dancing with a tempo of salsa & tango. That was really cool.

The classes are being held right in front of the Oil Academy. You will take there salsa, tango, rueda, rumba, cha-cha and other ballroom dances according to instructor's program.
Every Sunday at 7pm there is a salsa party at XSITE. You can practice your learnings there with different partners, enjoy the music and just have a good time before your working week.

So, if anyone is interested in, I can give instuctor's contacts, no prob   Wink
