The subject of our Seminar on the 12th of June will be Finite Differencing.

I will pick up the subject where I left it off last week and provide more numeric samples and a universal 2D plotting utility.

Roy, please tell me what topics I can read to prepare for our seminar?

I ask you because on Thursday i will have an exam on numerical metods.
it is important for me to understand completely all your explanations tomorrow in order to feel this subject better.

P.S. I am going to get the best grade.  Wink

Thank you in advance.

The quick answer is Samarski, Gulin and Bakhvalov.

My IAM lecture notes contain a list of references, and I will complement the list with the newest stuff later today. We can have a brief discussion of the suggested reading on Tuesday for the benefit of those who wil be passing  their exams on the subject.

IMPORTANT: I moved the Industrial and Applied Mathematics Seminar off site starting from the 20th of November session. Due to copyright restrictions and new funding conditions, from now on the seminar is open only to the members of the Scientific Computing Group, recipients of the Scientific Computing Scholarship, presenters and invited guests.

I will still be available for the students and Faculty staff for consultation on how to join the Scientific Computing Group or scheduling a presentation at the seminar each Tuesday from 12:30 to 13:00 at the Applied Mathematics Department.
